 The vintage electric fans on this page are unrestored and all original. Some may have a new head wire, power cord, or plug so that they are electricially sound. These fans have been serviced and tested. There may be some slight paint loss from age and usage.

  • 1950s SEARS KENMORE/SIGNAL 10 INCH VINTAGE ELECTRIC FAN 

     

     

       For your viewing is a Sears Kenmore model 124.8062 single speed 10 inch electric fan made by Signal. Sears did not make their own fans. They contracted out their fans to different fan manufacturers. The fan is an oscillator but it has a bad gear so is does not oscillate and is stationary. It is 41 inches tall, 11 inches wide, is done in a Hammered Green and is all metal. The guard does not have any broken welds or bent wires. There is some minor paint loss from age. The blade is free from any creases, is not bent, and runs smoothly. The base is not chipped, cracked, or broke. Motor cover is free of any dents or creases. The motor and gearbox were dissembled, cleaned, and inspected and relubricated. Motor bearings are in good shape. The fan was tested for over 2 hours and operated with no issues(There is a Short Video of the fan running in the Original Videos Section). The bad gear in the gearbox does not interfere with the operation of the fan, only the oscillating. At some point in its life a newer switch was installed along with the power cord with polarized plug.  For a small fan it moves the air.   •                1940s 10 INCH VINTAGE EXHAUST FAN 

     

     

      For your viewing pleasure is an uncommon 10 inch single speed exhaust fan from the 1940s. The manufacturer is unknown. The fan with the motor support is 15 ½ by 15 ½ inches and will fit a 10 ½ inch diameter opening. The deep pitch Torrington blade is polished aluminum. There are no creases or dents to the blade but, there are light surface scratches. The heavy duty wire motor support has no broken welds, cracks, or rust. It has all vibration grommets. There are no mounting screws. The Universal electric motor was cleaned, inspected and oiled. The fan was tested for over 2 hours and operated with no issues (There is a Short Video of the fan running in the Original Videos section). The pigtail cord and plug have no issues. This is a great vintage exhaust fan for the shop, garage, or kitchen. Motor Info: Universal Electric Co., Ser. 12EA72052R  Mod AA20268A Cont.   •   1925 10 INCH GENERAL MOTORS DAYTON DAY-FAN OSCILLATING ANTIQUE ELECTRIC FAN 

     
     

     

      For your viewing pleasure is an all original 10 inch single speed rebadged GM Dayton Day-Fan from the late Art Nouveau early Art Deco Period. It was made for North East Appliance Corp. The Dayton Fan and Motor Company started making desk fans in 1900 and continued thru the 1920s. In 1925 Dayton was sold to General Motors and in the 1930s they went into the industrial parts and hardware distribution sales. They continued to sell fans manufactured by other companies and sold under their name. They are still around and sell industrial and commercial fans now. The Satin Black wrinkle finish fan is 14 inches tall, 11 inches wide, and is all metal construction. The cast iron base is free of cracks, chips or breaks. There are a few tiny spots where the paint is worn from age and usage. The guard is free of any broken welds or bent wires. There is some wear to the badge but it is very readable. The blades are straight with no dents, creases, and are not bent. There is a little paint wear from age and usage. Cast Iron motor cover is in excellent condition with no issues. The motor and gearbox were disassembled, cleaned, and inspected. New grease was put in the gearbox and motor was oiled. Motor bearings are in good shape with no play. The fan was tested for over 2 hours and it ran and oscillated with no problems (There is a Short Video of the fan running in the Videos Section). The on/off switch functions with no problems. The head wire is original with no issues and the power cord was replaced with vintage style cloth covered cord along with a New Old Stock vintage plug. The fan is in excellent original condition for its age and usage. This is a great vintage piece for Art Nouveau or Art Deco Home décor. It is also a nice uncommon electric fan for Antique and Vintage electric fan collectors.   •  VINTAGE ANTIQUE 1919 8 INCH AC/DC EMERSON NORTHIND 44-C ELECTRIC FAN

     

      For your viewing pleasure is an all original circa 1919 8 inch AC/DC Emerson Northwind Model 44-C. It is a 2 speed. The Emerson Northwind series started in 1917 with the model 44-A and lasted until 1929 with the model 55. The models were changed every 2 years with some changes done yearly. This was a popular seller during the period. The fan is 11 inches tall, 8 ½ inches wide and is done in Gold which is its original color. The base and motor housing are cast iron. It retains all of its of original paint except on the guard where it is worn. The motor was inspected, brushes and armature were cleaned for maximum contact and it was oiled. The motor bearings have No play in them. The fan was tested for over 2 hours and ran smoothly with no problems (There is a short video of the fan running in our Videos Section). The head wire, cord and plug are in excellent condition with no issues. The 2 speed switch operates properly. The overall condition of this classic antique piece is excellent considering its age and usage. This is a real gem. Remember at Emerson “Built To Last”.

  • 1931 ART DECO VINTAGE 16 INCH AC/DC GILBERT KOLDAIR OSCILLATING VINTAGE ELECTRIC FAN

    

     

     

    For your viewing pleasure from the Art Deco Period is a rare unrestored 1931 16 inch 2 speed Koldair vintage electric fan made by the A.C.Gilbert Company. This was the first 16 inch fan they produced. It will run on AC or DC current. This Koldair Electric Fan made by one of the great American Businessmen A.C. Gilbert. Alfred Carlton Gilbert first claim to fame was winning a Gold Medal in the 1908 Olympics and in 1913 opened the A.C. Gilbert Company in New Haven, Conn. He started out making toys which included the famous Erector Set and in 1915 produced his first electric fan along with other small appliances and made fans under the Gilbert, Arctic, and Polar Cub name. The company made fans thru the 1950’s. Mr. Gilbert died in 1962. The fan you see is 19 inches tall, 17 inches across, is all metal construction and Black in color. The base is cast iron and does not have any cracks, breaks, chips, or rust. The Satin Black finish is in remarkable shape for its age. Steel guard does not have any broken, bent, or missing wires. There is some paint loss from age and usage. The badge is in very good original condition. Stamped steel blades are not bent, rivets are tight and blades are in balance.  Motor cover is very nice with no dents, creases, or deep scratches. There is very minor surface wear from age. The motor and gearbox were disassembled, cleaned, and inspected. New grease was put in the gearbox and motor was lubricated. The Motor bearing are in good shape with no excessive play. The fan was tested for over 2 hours and operated and oscillated smoothly with no issues (There is a Short Video of the fan running in the Videos Section). The headwire and power cord were replaced with new vintage style cloth cord. New rubber feet were also installed. On the bottom of the base it still has the factory information paper which is usually worn off. The Bakelite plug is original. The nichrome 2 speed switch was cleaned, inspected, and functions properly. The overall condition of the vintage treasure is excellent considering its age and usage. This is a real air mover. A great fan for an Art Deco look or for that avid Vintage fan collector looking for something different.

  • RETRO 1974 ORIGINAL HARVEST GOLD 8 INCH WIZARD VINTAGE ELECTRIC FAN


    For your viewing pleasure is a very nice 1974 all original 8 inch, stationary, single speed Western Auto Wizard vintage electric fan.  It was made by McGraw-Edison and sold thru Western Auto Stores. This is the model– BE200A-47 and the date of manufacture 12-2-74 is stamped on the bottom of the fan. The fan is 12 inches tall, 8 ¾ inches wide, is all metal construction and is done in Harvest Gold. The guard is Chrome plated steel and does not have any broken wires, is not bent, and is not rusted. The badge is in great shape with no dents or creases but does have very a couple tiny surface scratches from age and use.  The Aluminum blades are not bent or creased, and are in balance but there is some slight clouding of the aluminum from age. The stamped steel base and motor cover almost in like new condition with no creases, dents and are not bent.  The fan retains all of its original paint except for a couple of very tiny areas where it was rubbed off from usage. The motor was cleaned, inspected, and lubricated. Motor Bearings do not have any excessive play. Fan was tested for 2 hours and ran smoothly with no problems (There is a Short video of the fan running in the Videos Section). Original power Cord and single speed inline switch are in very good condition with no issues. Switch was tested and functions properly. This little vintage creampuff is in outstanding original condition for its age and usage. For a small fan is really can move some air, not like today’s fans. A great fan for that avid vintage fan collector, or as a nice vintage retro décor display for the home or business.

  •   VINTAGE ORIGINAL 1960 GENERAL ELECTRIC 12 INCH TWIN WINDOW/BOX FAN  

     

                For your viewing pleasure is a very nice all original circa 1960 General Electric 12 inch, 3 speed window fan. Twin window fans were all the rage in the late 1950s thru the early 1960s. They were designed for regular or casement windows which were starting to be installed in houses in the late 50s, since regular size window and box fans wouldn’t fit in casement windows, Fan manufacturers redesigned their fans for casement windows. GE started making twin fans around 1956 and made them until 1963. These fans can be used as a window fan or as a box fan. The fan you see is 27 ½ half inches wide, 15 ½ inches high and 7 ½ inches deep. It is all metal construction and the color is GE Blue Spruce. There is no rust, dents, creases to the cabinet and the original color shines like new. There are a few very tiny scuff marks but all the paint is intact. The guards do not have any broken welds and are not bent. The blades do not have any creases, are not bent, and are super clean. The fan was tested for over 2 hours, ran smoothly and within spec (There is a short video of the fan running in the videos section). The cord is original and is in very good condition with no issues. 3 speed switch functions properly and rubber handle is in very good condition with no cracks. The overall condition of this vintage gem is outstanding for its age. This fan moves a ton of air and looks great. It can be used as a box or window fan. You can’t find this kind of quality today.

  •   ORIGINAL 1946 F.A.SMITH FASCO 12 INCH ARCTIC AIRE SINGLE SPEED OSCILLATING VINTAGE ELECTRIC FAN 

     

     

                    For your Viewing pleasure is a very nice F.A.Smith single speed 12 inch oscillating fan from 1946. F.A.Smith Manufacturing Company of Rochester, New York started in 1911 making aftermarket parts for automobiles. The year 1933 saw F.A.Smith start to produce an 8 inch model electric fan and by 1937 had a full line of fans from 8 to 16 inch sizes and stationary and oscillating models. They made fans under the brand names of Arctic-Aire, Royal Rochester, Spartan, and Viking. The company changed their name from F.A, Smith MFG. Co. to FASCO in 1948 and moved from Rochester, New York to Fayette, North Carolina in 1955. In 2003 they became part of Tecumseh. The company is still in business making electric motors. The fan is 16 inches tall, 13 inch wide and is all metal construction. The color is a Hunter Green. The guard is free of any broken or bent wires of broken welds. The aluminum blade doesn’t have any creases and is not bent. There are some wear marks from age and usage. The motor and gearbox were disassembled, cleaned, and inspected. New grease was put in the gearbox and the motor was oiled. The motor bearings were also inspected and are in good with no excessive play. The fan was tested for over 3 hours and oscillated and operated smoothly with no problems. The single speed switch was inspected, cleaned, tested and it works fine. The original wiring is in good shape with no issues. The foil badge is good shape but there is a little wear to it from age and usage. The overall condition of this vintage gem is very good for its age and usage. The foil badged Arctic Aires are not very common. They were only produced for a couple of years. This is a real stylish air mover from the 1940s.

    For your viewing pleasure is an all original circa 1950 10 inch Handy Breeze vintage electric fan. It is a single speed and oscillates. The Chicago Electric MFG. began as an electrical supply house in 1902. As they grew they began to manufacture small household appliances such as irons, toasters, waffle irons, and fans. Their brands of electric fans included Handy Breeze, Sterling, Arctic, and Challenge. The company was bought out by The Silex Corporation around 1953. The fan is 14 inches high, 11 inches wide and is done in a two tone Grey and Periwinkle Blue. It is all metal construction of Aluminum, stamped steel, and cast iron. The guard is free of any broken welds and is not bent. The badge is in good shape with no dents, but does have a little wear from age. The base does not have any cracks or breaks. The motor cover is in great shape with only a few very minor imperfections from age and usage.  New bearings were installed and the gearbox has new grease and the motor has been oiled. The fan was tested for over 2 hours and oscillated and operated within spec. The original power cord does not have any issues. The overall condition of this vintage creampuff is outstanding for its age and usage. This is a nice fan for midcentury décor or for the avid vintage fan collector.

  • MID CENTURY VINTAGE ORIGINAL 1959 10 INCH DOMINION ELECTRIC FAN

    For your viewing pleasure is a very clean all original single speed, oscillating fan made by Dominion. The Dominion Electrical Manufacturing INC. of Mansfield, Ohio was started in the 1920s and by the 1930s was a household name in small appliances. They were around through the 60s. The fan is 14 inches high, 11 inches wide, is all metal construction, and is done in Turquoise. The guard is in nice condition with no broken or bent wires. There are a few very minor blemishes from age. The badge is super clean with only very light scuff marks. The blades have no issues. The base is free of any cracks, chips, or breaks. The motor housing looks very good and does not have any dents. There is new grease in the gear box and the motor has been oiled. Motor bearings have no issues. The fan is set in the oscillating mode. To make it stationary simply turn the oscillating disk located at the bottom right side of the motor in the opposite direction until it tightens and the fan stops oscillating. Finger tighten only; do not use pliers to prevent damage to the fan. The fan was tested for over two hours and oscillated and operated smoothly with no issues. Single speed snap switch functions properly and original power cord has no issues. The overall condition of this vintage gem is outstanding for its age and usage.   • ART DECO CIRCA 1935 ORIGINAL GENERAL ELECTRIC GE 12 INCH BRASS BLADED TYPE-AG VINTAGE UTILITY FAN

    For your viewing pleasure is a very uncommon all original 12 inch Brass Bladed General Electric Utility fan. The type is AG and the form is AL-1. This little gem was made by one of the giants of the electric fan industry, General Electric. The company was founded by inventor Thomas Edison in 1878, and was originally called the, Edison Light Company. In 1892 the company became General Electric and in 1894 produced their first electric desk fan.  They continued to produce electric fans until the mid 1970s. Alive and thriving today they still make appliances and are in the aerospace industry. 

    The fan is 18 inches tall, 14 inches wide, and is made of Brass and Steel. The heavy duty steel guard does not have any broken welds and it is not bent. There is a little paint loss from age and usage. The blades are Brass and have been polished. The original mounting bracket is mounted to a homemade base. The motor housing is in good shape with only some minor paint loss. The fan has been rewired and the motor has been oiled.  Simply plug it in and it goes. It was tested for over two hours and performed within spec. The overall condition of this interesting vintage piece is very good considering its age and usage. This fan may be small but it’s a powerhouse and offers a blast of air. It’s great for using in the work shop or for the vintage fan collector who is looking for something different.

  •   VINTAGE MACHINE AGE 1949 VICTOR SCATTER-BREEZE 12 INCH STATIONARY ELECTRIC FAN 

     

    For your viewing pleasure is an original condition single speed 12 inch Victor “Scatter Breeze” stationary vintage electric fan. The Victor electric products company started out manufacturing electric fans around 1926 and ceased making them in the early 1950s. This is one of their last models with the patented breeze spreader. The fan is 18 inches tall,14 inches wide and is all metal construction. The color is Hammerliod Brown. The guard and blade do not have any broken welds or bent wires. The blades are polished aluminum and are not bent or creased. The base is cast iron. The power cord has been replaced and original Bakelite plug is original. The fan retains 98% of its original paint. There are a couple of very tiny spots of paint wear. The single speed switch functions properly. The fan was tested for over 2 hours and ran smoothly, and within spec. There are no issues with the motor bearings. The spreader moves the air around and circulates it nicely.   •   ANTIQUE ART NOUVEAU ORIGINAL 1920 12 INCH WESTINGHOUSE OSCILLATING DESK FAN STYLE 164848G 

                For your viewing pleasure is a very clean 1920 12 inch, 3 speed, unrestored Westinghouse antique electric fan.  The fan was made by one of the giants in Electric Fans, Westinghouse. George Westinghouse with the help of Nikola Tesla (Who perfected AC Current) began to produce desk fans in 1889.Westinghouse was one of the big three (Emerson& GE) who produced high quality fans from the 1890s thru the early 1970s. The fan is 17 inches tall and 13 inches wide.  It is all steel construction except for the Brass blade, tag, badge, and oscillating plunger.

    The steel guard is free on any broken welds or bent wires and retains just about all of its paint. The badge does not have any creases or dents and has a nice patina to it. It does have very light surface scratches from age and use. The Brass blade does not have any creases, loose rivets, is not bent, and runs smoothly. The drawn steel motor and base are very clean original, and the paint still has its original showroom shine. There is minor paint loss from age and usage but, retains over 95% of its original paint. The oil cup was cleaned out of old grease and new oil was added, along with cleaning the gearbox and replenishing it with new grease. The head wire and power cord are soft and pliable with no exposed or worn areas. The fan was tested for over 2 hours and operated and oscillated smoothly with no issues. The overall condition of this antique gem is excellent considering its age and usage. Brass bladed fans in this condition are getting very hard to come by. Here is your chance to own one now.
